Welcome to The Dojo
First semester begins September 1st!
Become a black belt at pool and gain the confidence to crush your opponents!
The Dojo is a community of badass pool players learning the secrets of the mental game. The essential skills you'll learn in this course will turn you into a dominant force at the pool table. Each week during the 12-week course, we have group classes and open practice sessions as well as individual lessons. Just like a martial arts dojo, this course gives you all the tools and support you need to advance your game and humble your rivals.

The Idea
Have you ever played someone you really wanted to crush? Perhaps it was a loud, bragging frat boy who was getting under your skin. Maybe it was your nemesis in league who always seems to get the better of you. Do you wish you had the ability to consistently win against those types of players? Would it feel good to let your skills on the table do all the talking?

What if you could be that badass who quiets the loudmouths, humbles the overconfident, and stuns the crowd of onlookers? How would it feel to KNOW you are a boss on the pool table and never doubt your skills again?

That's what The Dojo is all about. When you join this community, you'll gain access to the skills you need to shine at the pool table, plus membership in a supportive community of other badass pool players. We're learning the secrets of the mental game that lead to permanent, long-term excellence.

The idea for The Dojo came from relating pool to martial arts. When you think about it, the two disciplines have a lot in common. Both martial arts experts and professional pool players must have intense focus, stamina, self control, mental fortitude, flexible thinking, improvisation, emotional regulation, perfect body control, and advanced situational awareness.
What's more, these skills aren't just useful for your pool game; they are applicable to your life as well. Would you like to have more self control, stronger focus, fine-tuned emotional intelligence, and better strategies for success in your life and in your pool game? If you said yes, then The Dojo is for you. More than just a pool training course, The Dojo is a life-changing curriculum of useful skills that you'll continue to develop and use long after the course is over.

I designed The Dojo to be like a martial arts training program. The purpose is to teach you the secret mental techniques that expert pool players use to succeed at a high level. When you join the dojo, you'll attend weekly group classes where we focus on the mindfulness skills that expert pool players know and use. These skills are essential for success in pool and in life, yet hardly anyone talks about them. No other pool course available today dives as deep into these indispensable skills.

The methods I teach in The Dojo are not new. They've been known for thousands of years by yogis, martial artists, elite athletes, and successful businessmen of all eras. However, very few instructors have ever applied these techniques to the game of pool. The Dojo is the first course of its kind to offer pool students these imperative skills required for success in pool and in life.

Meet your instructor, Taylor. He became a skill level 7 in APA 8-ball in 2018 and has been teaching students of all levels since 2019. He currently competes with the top players in Colorado, and he has won several league titles and cash tournaments. His success comes from his excellent foundation in the mental game. The skills he relies on in competition are the same skills he teaches in The Dojo.

The Course
When a black belt walks into a room, they aren't looking for a fight. They have too much mental and emotional control to seek out conflict. However, they know in their bones that if a conflict happens, they will be able to handle it with grace and skill. The blackbelt is filled with confidence because of their superior training, experience, and expertise.
That's the type of supreme confidence I want you to have when you play pool. And when you join The Dojo, that's exactly what you'll be learning.

The Dojo is a twelve-week course designed to help you accomplish serious, lasting improvement in your pool game - especially your mental skills. The Dojo is also a community of badass pool players who all practice together to advance their games. It's designed to be similar to a martial arts dojo, but for pool!

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to be an advanced player to join The Dojo?

No! I welcome students of all levels into The Dojo. Whether you're an APA 2 trying to advance or a seasoned APA 6, The Dojo has a lot to offer you. Because the group classes are broken into small groups of 3-4 students each, you'll be learning alongside other students near your own skill level. The topics we cover in each group are customized to the skill level of the group, just like how yellow belts and black belts learn different techniques appropriate to their experience.

What kinds of topics will we cover in The Dojo?

The topics covered in The Dojo weekly classes and individual lessons will be designed specifically for your current skill level. Depending on your current abilities, we may cover topics ranging from the fundamentals of pool to advanced pool strategy. However, every student who joins The Dojo will gain access to mindfulness tools that will support you in your pool game and in your life.. These skills include attitude management, body awareness, breath control, positive thinking, manifesting, focus control, situational awareness, and many more.

How many students will be in The Dojo? And how big are the group classes?

Each semester of The Dojo is limited to 11 students. I keep the groups small so that I can give each student high quality individual attention. The group classes will be small, with 3-4 students in each class. Each semester, I will divide my students into three small groups based on skill level and experience. That way, the students in each class can learn together, practice together, and support each other in their pool journey.

How will the classes and lessons be scheduled?

Each student can schedule their weekly individual lessons at a time that works for them. Each group class will be scheduled based on the availability of the students in each group. The groups are based on skill level and experience, and there will never be more than four students per group class.
