Lesson Structure

What to Expect

01

Skill Assessment

During our first lesson, I will assess your skills and level of proficiency in pool. This basically means we will play a couple of games and I'll closely observe your skills. Then I will identify key areas for improvement, and we'll start to work on those.

03

Hands-on Learning

Once we've talked about the theory and I've provided multiple examples of the skills we're working on, you'll start to practice as I give you feedback. Usually I will give you a drill or two to work on, which will help solidify the skills in your mind and muscle memory.

02

Skill Support

During our lessons, we will usually pick one or two key skills to work on. The skills we choose to work on will be based on my assessment and your input. You can always tell me what you'd like to improve if you already know.

04

Practice Makes Perfect

After we've worked on specific skills for a while, we will play some more real games, with our focus on the skills we just worked on. Using them in a real game helps the knowledge to sink in more permanently. In between our lessons, you can continue to practice the skills in real games.

What do my students say?

Exceptional instructor! Within months, Taylor turned me from someone who barely knew how to hold a cue into a confident NAPA league player. His patient guidance and expertise helped tremendously, especially when I felt intimidated and embarrassed by my initial skill level. Highly recommended for those seeking to have fun with a new hobby that will help you make a lot of great friends.
